m4 here - used the previous edition numerous times every single day for the last 1.5 years... they've added more color here to this book. It's easier to navigate through the book with the color tabs. Also, they've gotten rid of the older drugs, which makes it easier to find what you want. I'm not sure if they've added new stuff in there, but I don't care, since I'm in medical school and I just need the basics. Most importantly -- at least for me -- they've added a lot of tables, and I'm a huge fan of tables. Would I buy it again? I'm not sure. It's a lot easier to navigate with the color tabs, but let's face it: if you're looking for a drug and you have 4 residents and an attending waiting for you to give them the dosing, you're going to go straight to the index. Also, it's easier to navigate with the color tabs, but I don't use this book to study from obviously, and I don't use it for casual reading, so the color tabs don't really help out "that" much. However, I can see how someone else might appreciate that (had a few classmates buy it just because of those colored tabs). The tables are obviously awesome, but I don't think they are worth buying this book for. Just my n=1.
Finally was forced to purchase a new Tarascon after my 2009 was destroyed in a flood :) This is my GO TO medical resource. I use the blank pages to tape in other reference info that I use often (lab norms, orthopedic drawings of hand, wrist, ankle, foot with labels, etc, other notes to self such as hormonal D&C for DUB, my rash resources and the names of exam tests I can never remember such as the difference between Rovsing and psoas, so this becomes more than a pharmacopoeia. I work in a very busy urgent care and refer to my Tarascon at least several times per day. Most often for pediatric doses of medication by weight which is awesome but would suggest the following: Add QD and BID dosing for cefdinir, there are two concentrations of susp bactrim/sulfa and they should both be in there.When right out of school I referred to all sorts of books, references and had a fully loaded PDA. After 10 years in practice I'm down to the Sanford Guide in my left lab coat pocket and Tarascon in my right. For every time I refer to Sanford I've looked at Tarascon at least 20 times. Ditched the PDA many years ago - worthless.I make sure this book is in the computer bag for work like I make sure I have my keys before going out to my car. If you practice medicine, this book is for you.
My primary peripheral brain for drug referencing. I'm writing this 2 years after I bought this, however I'll admit I still use it. I usual upgrade every couple years and plan to get the 2017 guide when it comes out.
I have been using these handy pocket books for well over a decade and have not had a need to change to digital media as I am so well versed on use of this awesome little book. In fact memorizing the sections adds to its utility in searching for drug prices and availability on our hospital formulary. Great item!

I buy this every 2 years and use it on a daily basis. I love the new lay out and the bigger print. The charts are better too. I love being able to quickly reference safety in preg. and lactation as well as common doses of medications I don't commonly prescribe. Love that I can access generic names for almost every drug.
always wanted to have a handy book since I am discouraged to write brand names and there are just some meds that are easier to remember by brand rather than generic (or should we say chemical name)
Continues previous quality of Pocket Pharmacopoeia editions. Perhaps including a flat type magnifier as an option might help us with aging eyes?? Otherwise good for inpatient and urgent care use.
