This deck arrived today and I’m super happy with it. The illustrations are simple, intuitive, and evocative while also being darling af. The accompanying book is full of thoughtful info that’s tailored to this specific deck and its artist’s personal experience with tarot. Very insightful while not being so wordy that reading it feels like a chore. The packaging looks beautiful on the outside. Inside, the cards are laid out in two stacks which isn’t ideal for travel, but I usually wrap my decks in a cloth when I take them places anyway. The cards are small (playing card sized) and on the thin side. A previous reviewer was disappointed in the quality and layout of this deck. I don’t feel that way. If I was holding it up to something like The Wild Unknown that retails for $40+, the quality might bug me, but with the Kawaii deck I see a clever artist who found some cost effective work-arounds that enabled her to offer her creation to a wider audience at a significantly lower price. I’m so into that :)
I bought this Tarot deck recently because the cards are really cute! I'm always excited to add to my collection of decks when I find something unique or that catches my eye.A few things of note:- The booklet included is very helpful to those that are new to tarot. It explains the meanings of each card and it's reverse, meanings of suits, numbers, major arcana, and even explains common spreads and example questions to ask your cards.- The cards themselves are the size/shape of playing cards, which means with a full deck of 72 may be a bit tricky for some to shuffle. I personally prefer the longer shape of traditional tarot cards, but they're not bad in and of themselves- The rounded corners of the cards aren't evenly cut, which isn't a huge deal but isn't something I've seen on my other decks. This may be an issue with my set specifically as I also noticed a lot of dusty paper shavings on each card that I had to brush off.- You probably won't want to keep the cards permanently in the two paper boxes they came in. It's a real pain sometimes to open those boxes!- I wish the hardcover box the cards and booklet came in had some kind of secure closing mechanism, like a magnet closure or an elastic at least. I want to keep my booklet and cards together in this case, but it's just not secure enough for daily use. and the cards and booklet fall out easily- On a similar note, I wish the sleeve for the booklet was designed better. you can only slide a few of the pages in, and it makes me nervous about damaging pages. A simple pocket to slide the book in would have been a better choiceThe simple design of these cards I think make them especially useful for simple questions and interpretations, in my experience. Definitely a good beginner set, or for those who feel drawn to the cute, simple designs on the cards. I think this set is well priced for what you get, but definitely has room for improvements
I bought this deck just expecting it to add variety to my collection of Tarot cards, but it's quickly become my go-to deck! The accompanying book is actually amazing! Every other instruction booklet I've gotten with a Tarot deck, I've just thrown away because they haven't been accurate or they're full of dogma, but this one gives really good interpretations of the cards and great spread ideas. Here I've done a simple 3-card past/present/future spread and the Romani spread outlined in the booklet. There are just two negatives: They don't come with a bag or box to keep all the cards in, and the illustrations of the court cards are pretty basic/unimaginative. Still, I absolutely love this deck, and people ask all the time where I got it. I get great readings from them! They're so unique and lovely!
A cute themed spin on the traditional Rider Waite Tarot system. One draw back is that this definitely NOT a deck for a beginner. There isn't enough symbology to actually effectively read this divination-wise if you're a beginner in my opinion. However, the cards are cute and worth it if only for the novelty. Also the card stock is not good quality for someone planning on making this a go-to deck, in fact one of the cards already came frayed when I opened the box. One plus to this deck is the booklet that comes with it is very well-written and insightful. I liked the 3 key words that came with each card to give insight into their energies. As a Tarot reader who does readings for money I think it's important to note that although I wish this deck was better quality all physical things considered, a lot of people really resonate with this deck's aesthetic and individual spirit. I have realized that in the world of Tarot, this deck is extremely approachable for people who are curious and have never had their cards read. As an eclectic witch myself who is rarely shook by occult paraphernalia, I have to admit that many decks are completely off-putting to the "Muggle world" and if you're someone actually doing business and using the Tarot as a tool it's only good business to consider that objective fact. Also, this tends to be a strong crowd favorite for anyone coming to me for a reading who needs answers communicated in a loving and empathic way. This deck has an uncanny ability to tell you the crippling truth of a situation that you already knew deep down yet needed to hear in a way that doesn't totally shatter your heart. I can speak from personal experience on that. This deck is really a 4 star deck because I mean for roughly 14$ you're getting what you're paying for, yet I'm critical and am obnoxiously authentic. If anyone who has a hand in making this deck sees this: Please remake the deck with much better card stock and please don't take this deck out of print! This deck is quickly becoming a staple to my business brand and I wouldn't mind paying extra money for this deck if the card stock was much higher quality. Thank you!
