I teach an adult education class and prepare students to take the TASC test. When the first edition of this book came out, I purchased it right away and it has been extremely helpful. The practice tests are, in some ways, more like the actual test than the Readiness Test. When the second edition came out, I purchased it expecting to find new practice tests for my students. However, 90% of the second edition is exactly like the first edition--word for word. The 10% new information covers test format like drop down items and short answers.If you do not have the first edition, I highly recommend the second edition. However, you do not need both editions. One thing to take into consideration is that the first edition is printed on a better quality paper and is more substantial.
The practice tests where a lot like the real test, but the math portion of this book doesn't provide much instruction.
I am a TASC coordinator for a local high school. This review book is good as a source of questions, but does not do a great job of explaining content.
Use it in my HSE classes. Good guide as reference and instruction. Some typo errors found.
