THE THUNDER LORD - 5 STARSIf you love historical romance stories, this is the author to start reading!!! I have read 11 of her stories, maybe more because she offers alot of her novels in bundles.This is an amazing story, not much violence accept at the beginning, and it is mostly described after the battle. But, that doesn't mean it is boring, not in the least.I love this family, and Lady Honey was an added bonus. The way this author writes, you not only can picture everything clearly, but you feel all the emotions as the story unravels.You could feel our H struggles with the sadness of losing his first wife, and finding himself remarried when he isn't finished grieving. This is a story of turmoil, betrayal, suspense, intrigue, plot twists and even something to put a smile on your face.There is HEA, no cliffhanger, but you will want to get the rest of the rest, because this family is so darn thrilling!! If I recall correctly, there is only one lovemaking scene, within marriage, and mildly descriptive. It only goes on for a page, so that is not what this story is about. It is about loyalty, family and love.Be prepared to not put it down, because it is so captivating you can't stop reading. Off I go to book 2 of the series.THE THUNDER WARRIOR - 4.5 STRONG STARSI really thought I would like this better than Thunder Lord, but I still have a soft spot for book one. You really need to read these in order, to fully appreciate the brother's relationship and that of their loved ones. The author states her books don't have to be read in order, but since the character's from book one are in this one, I really enjoyed it more having read book one.The last 1/3 of the book was amazing, so much action, intrigue, suspense that my heart was actually racing faster because the way the author writes so vividly, I felt I was watching the fighting unfold in front of me. I wish I was a writer, because I can't describe how I felt reading it, and all the emotions I used.There is only one lovemaking scene, within marriage, that was mildly descriptive. I loved the connection between our H and h. They fell in love fast, love at first sight, and I believed their relationship.I am off to book 3, and if you need a new author, this is certainly the one to start with. Kathryn Le Veque keeps it real, and she writes character's that I would love to be able to do time travel and be friends with them.THE THUNDER KNIGHT - 5 STARSl rarely get emotional in stories, ending but I did in this fantastic trilogy. You must read about the brother's in order, or you will truly miss the journey.Our H in this story was my least favorite of the brother's. He didn't bathe, smelled awful, and took virgin's innocence as it was nothing. Granted after he met our h he became a great character.This has a lot of historical information given, not sure if accurate since I love this type of novel. I could feel the different pull in decisions some of the brother's made and the outcome of those decisions.As with most of this author's stories, there is only one or two lovemaking that is never vulgar, but because she makes you care for the H/h, you always feel the passion.The ending was one of the best epilogues in a series ever! It was a nice closure to the stories of the 3 brother's and their families. You will laugh, cry and laugh again, you will use all your emotions in this series.We get HEA in all the stories.I am an avid reader of this author, and so many of the families from other stories have parts in this series, but my only recommendation is to read all 3 of this series in order. If you know about the other character's it will be the cherry on top of the cake, but not necessary to know about the other powerful houses.This last novel has so many surprises that I would think everything was sounding great how it would all work out, nice and smoothly, but then BAM, a huge twist that kept me reading and reading. A powerful series is an understatement. (ljb)
I enjoyed all of the stories very much. The only complaint I have is the author really needs a editor. There were quite a bit of errors, which is truly sad considering she puts a lot of effort and time into writing these stories.
I've read a number of Kathryn LeVeque's books in the past months. This trilogy, "The Lords of Thunder" was one of my favorites. "The Thunder Lord" just happened to be the first book of Kathryn's that I read. "The Thunder Lord" was my favorite book in this trilogy. I particularly enjoyed the character of their mother Honey de Shera. I loved the development of the Max in the second book. The third book, "The Thunder Knight," was the least interesting for me.Also enjoying the de Lohr dynasty, particularly "Rise of the Defender" and "Steelheart." Another favorite was The Dark Lord. I really like the way the author connects with characters and events from various books. Helps keep me connected to the characters, events, and politics of the time. I delight in finding out that one character is the son or uncle of another character in a different book. I don't know how I'd get through my daily walks without her books. I'm very happy that she is such a prolific writer. I fully intend to read ALL of her books.Good reading!
All three books in this bundle were amazing. I connected to the characters immediately. The story lines in each book kept going from great to even greater. This bundle is highly recommended and each book can be a stand alone.I could not put them down the flow of the stories is amazing, and all the characters of the books had there own little story with in the story of the main characters. They are not just a love stories,it has suspense, murder, manipulation, action and comedy. It also made me laugh out loud and cry alligator tears.).
Since I discovered Kathryn LeVeque as an author reading has kept my nose in my e-reader for hours on end. I'm retired, when housekeeping is done and free time abounds my comfy chair calls and the story begins. I love the heroes in her books, they are strong, opinionated and most of all committed to their oaths, families and friends something you don't find to much today. I just love when an author makes you feel like you are at the seen of what ever is happening whether or not they are on the battlefield or in the Castle or going to the village.In these books each son has a favorite food he enjoys and Honey gives the recipe at the end of each story. They sound really good and am going to try them.
You need the read these books back to back to progress through each book's conclusion. It is frustrating to be left hanging.
But through out the trilogies there were many mistakes, the editor didn't edit. I quiet surprised by how many mistakes I had caught and I am bad at grammar. The last book on the Thunder Warrior Tiberius ended so quickly off to war then 13 yrs later. You could tell she was in a hurry to finish the book. Quality is always better than quantity.
What can I say other than Kathryn has is the one of the best writers of romance adventure. This trilogy is just what you need to dream of dayslong ago and someone to love you and for you to love them in a way we do not find today. Get this trilogy you we not be disappointed.
